Qingdao Optoelectronic Display New Material Industrial Park launches key project

After seven months of construction, the Research Institute and High-End Equipment project was officially put into operation on July 12 in Qingdao Optoelectronic Display New Material Industrial Park in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

With a total investment of 3 billion yuan ($444.81 million), the project covers an area of 5.98 hectares and includes six laboratories, two R&D centers and a high-end equipment manufacturing base.

As one of the eight key projects of the industrial park, it plays a fundamental role in promoting the localization process of upstream materials in the chip and screen industries and will provide complete sets of technology and equipment solutions for the industrial park's follow-up projects.

The project focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of high-end semiconductor equipment for optoelectronic displays and new silicon-carbon materials. It plans to speed up technological innovation, achieve breakthroughs in key bottlenecks, and accelerate the upgrading of scientific and technological achievements.
