Ocean University of China to open new campus in Qingdao WCNA

The first phase of the new campus of Qingdao-based Ocean University of China in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) is about to be put into use in August.

The project, which started in September, 2019, is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of July.

The Qingdao WCNA Campus will welcome 7,000 students upon its opening semester this fall.

The planned total construction area of the Qingdao WCNA Campus (Phase I) is 1.85 million square meters, with a capacity of approximately 20,000 students.

It is composed of a learning complex, five colleges, a student dormitory, a canteen, and the Marine Biological Resources Development Center (Phase I).

Ocean University of China is a key comprehensive university with unique strengths in oceanography and fisheries. Its Qingdao WCNA Campus will focus on engineering and applied disciplines.

After the first phase is completed, Ocean University of China's five colleges, which include the College of Engineering, College of Computer Science and Technology, College of Electronic Engineering, College of Materials Science and Engineering, and College of Food Science and Engineering, will be relocated to the new campus.
