Qingdao WCNA receives 370,000 visitors during May Day holiday

According to local media reports on May 5, major scenic areas in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) welcomed around 370,000 visitors during the May Day holiday, which ran from April 30 to May 4.

During the five-day holiday, many scenic spots in Qingdao WCNA launched various cultural tourism events and preferential policies to attract local visitors while strictly carrying out epidemic prevention and control measures.

Short-distance tours, tours of neighboring areas and countrysides, and city leisure tours became popular among residents in Qingdao WCNA during the holiday as many chose to embark on tours near their homes due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic.

Camping trips also boomed. According to a Decathlon store in Qingdao WCNA, its sales of outdoor camping products during the holiday increased by 138 percent year-on-year.
