CLP CEO looking forward to participating in more green projects in Shandong

The Qingdao summit serves as a communication platform for multinational enterprises and this has helped promote deeper understanding and closer communication between enterprises, as well as provided a channel for multinational enterprises to seek business opportunities in Shandong province and the Chinese mainland, said Chiang Tung Keung, the chief executive officer of CLP Group, in an interview during the fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit, which was held from Oct 10 to 12 in Qingdao, Shandong province.

During the late 1980s, CLP, which is the biggest foreign power investor on the Chinese mainland, started making investments in power plants located in Shiheng, Heze, and Liaocheng in Shandong province. Given the growing demand for clean energy in Shandong and its desire to support the country's dual-carbon goals, CLP has established wind farms in the three cities of Penglai, Laizhou, and Laiwu in Shandong province.

Chiang also expressed optimism about engaging in more investment projects focused on green renewable energy in Shandong, noting that this would allow CLP to have a more significant impact on Shandong's endeavors to reduce carbon emissions.
