Heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Bavi, the 10th typhoon of the year, has caused severe flooding in many parts of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. On the evening of July 8, an 11-member team from the Pioneer Emergency Rescue Team in Luozhuang district, Linyi, Shandong province, traveled more than 2,000 kilometers to Binyang county, Guangxi, and immediately joined local flood relief efforts.

According to Fang Qingwei, executive captain of the team, the rescue group sent two vehicles and 11 members, carrying three inflatable boats and other rescue equipment. The team gathered overnight and set out without delay. Its members come from different age groups and backgrounds, including business owners, workers, delivery drivers and ride-hailing drivers. Although they usually work in different fields, they quickly gathered when the rescue mission was needed. A local internet influencer also joined the team and went to the frontline instead of appearing in livestreams.

After arriving in Binyang on July 8, the team quickly coordinated with the local emergency command center and started its rescue work. On July 9, rescuers were assigned to evacuate trapped residents. Facing waist-deep water in some areas, they pushed inflatable boats through muddy floods, searched for residents on a house-by-house basis and moved them to safety. The team worked from morning until evening, with their clothes repeatedly soaked, but no one complained.

The rescue work is still ongoing. From Yimeng region to Guangxi, the volunteers from Linyi traveled thousands of kilometers to support flood relief efforts, showing the responsibility and commitment of ordinary people during emergencies.
