Traditional Chinese culture enriches residents' lives in Jining
In recent years, Jining has successfully integrated traditional Chinese culture into modern civilization practices, fostering a socially uplifting atmosphere.
The city has incorporated folk and intangible cultural heritage (ICH) into curriculums through modern teaching methods such as live demonstrations, experiential learning, and ritual music education.
For example, pingpai drum music, a kind of suona art and a national ICH, was performed at a primary school in Zoucheng, Jining for an exhibition and teaching session.
Jining is the cradle of many traditional cultural arts along canals – famed for originating and nurturing art forms like the Shandong fishing drum.
By aligning with public needs and employing innovative services, Jining has developed popular public cultural service brands, including conducting art performances for people, rural public film screenings, square dancing competitions, and youth singing contests.
Additionally, Jining has organized an array of activities to show the charm of cultural relics amid the popularity of cultural tourism.
At the Confucius Museum, the immersive digital art exhibition "Confucius Code" uses 3D objects, light sculptures, and dynamic scrolls to present the life of Confucius, which sparks greater interest in traditional Chinese culture among both domestic and international visitors.
Jining is striving for a comprehensive museum system, with a focus on 21 major cultural tourism projects totaling an investment of 38.9 billion yuan ($5.37 billion). The city boasts 12 national third-class museums or higher, with the Jining Museum and Confucius Museum being recognized as "National First-Class Museums".
