The 32nd National Book Trading Expo is set to grace Jining with its presence from July 27 to 31, alongside the first Jining Book Trade Fair.

With the poetic tagline "the fragrance of books moistens Jining, and Confucian style paints a beautiful chapter," the event will span five days.

Hosted primarily in Jinan, Shandong's capital, the fair extends to Jining as a branch venue, making it a province-wide literary and cultural celebration.

Since the first National Book Trading Expo was held in Beijing in 1980, followed by the second event nine years later, the fair has become an annual staple, growing into an important platform for the book industry and cultural exchange.

Over its 40-year history, the fair has expanded from its initial focus on book trading to a multifunctional cultural event. It has kept pace with the evolution of the publishing landscape, embracing digital publishing and becoming a dynamic space for publication sales, information exchange, industry dialogues, and the promotion of reading.
