The recent opening of the Rizhao-Lankao high-speed railway has significantly reduced travel times between the Chinese Central Plains and the Shandong Peninsula, making Jining, Shandong more accessible than ever with six stops along the line.

Spanning from Rizhao West Station, the railway traverses through major cities including Rizhao, Linyi, Jining, and Heze in Shandong province as well as Shangqiu and Kaifeng in Henan province, ultimately connecting to the Xuzhou-Lanzhou high-speed railway at Lankao South Station.

Jining North Station now connects to destinations such as Kaifeng, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Xuchang, Zhumadian, Xinyang and offers direct access to cities further west like Xi'an, Baoji, Tianshui, Lanzhou, Chengdu, and Chongqing.

Currently, high-speed trains from Jining North Station directly connect to Zhengzhou East and Xi'an North, with the fastest travel times being 1 hour and 37 minutes to Zhengzhou East, and 3 hours and 44 minutes to Xi'an North.

On July 23, the inauguration of the G1833 high-speed train service from Qingdao North to Chongqing West marked a new milestone, as it is the first high-speed train line from Jining North Station to head southwest, offering access to Guangyuan, Qingchuan, Mianyang, Chengdu, Neijiang, and Chongqing.
