The 2023 Jining Taibai Lake Half Marathon, which took place in Jining, a city in Shandong province, on Nov 12, attracted nearly 5,000 participants.

The competition route passed through the Taibai Lake Scenic Area, highlighting iconic landmarks and urban achievements in the Taibai Lake New Area.

Titled "Igniting Passion, Charm of Taibai Lake", the event has prioritized contestant support and innovation to deliver a unique, thrilling, and spirited sports spectacle.

"The thoughtful services, well-stocked supplies, and well-planned route played a crucial role in the competition," said Yu Quanwei, the men's half marathon champion, attributing the scenic route and impressive results to meticulous event organization.

To enhance safety, 60 medical staff, 150 security personnel, and 360 volunteers offered their services. With five medical centers featuring 20 AED units, participants received thoughtful provisions like brown sugar ginger tea, fruit, dim sum, medicine boxes, and heating blankets.

The inaugural local marathon also witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, with the 5-kilometer happy run being the most popular choice for families, enterprises, institutions and school groups.
