The Dongying History Museum, which was established in 1993 and is a national second-level museum, is one of the best places to visit in Dongying.
The museum consists of two sections, one of which is a comprehensive exhibition building. Housing a collection of over 12,000 artifacts — including 445 third-grade cultural relics — the 3,500-square-meter exhibition hall serves as a living encyclopedia, narrating the city's history from ancient times to the present.

Another section of the museum is the memorial hall of Sun Tzu, also known as Sun Wu, a renowned philosopher and military strategist of ancient China. The hall's architecture ranks among the top 10 ancient buildings in Shandong. Inside, visitors can view porcelain carvings illustrating The Art of War, Sun Tzu's classic military treatise, as well as exhibits recounting the stories of notable Chinese generals from history.
