Bright red Suaeda salsa stretches across the tidal flats of the Yellow River Delta in Dongying city of East China's Shandong province. The stunning "red carpet" is where migratory birds pause to rest and feed.
Known as a pioneer species, Suaeda salsa absorbs salt from the soil into its leaves, stems, and roots, turning the landscape a fiery red.
This vibrant red carpet, dotted with feeding birds, creates a unique autumn scene and a new highlight for eco-tourism in the delta.
