The opening ceremony of the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations was held on July 9 in Qufu, in East China's Shandong province. 

In his remarks, Zhao Rui, vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, emphasized that only by respecting each other and embracing differences can we break down the barriers of cultural divides.
