In the first two months, Shandong's imports and exports increased by 6.9 percent year on year, making up a significant portion of domestic foreign trade. Shandong enterprises are seizing upon the service trade by offering more intelligent and green services to overseas markets, as services have become a significant driver of global trade in recent years.

For example, Shandong-based Inspur Communication Information Systems Co Ltd has seen explosive growth in its overseas business since 2024. Its overseas revenue in the first two months of 2025 tripled compared to the same period last year.

Its overseas business revolves mainly around software exports, data center construction services, and related products. With the increasing demand for data centers driven by digitalization, the company has been building data centers in regions such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

Additionally, Haier's COSMOPlat, a leading global industrial internet platform, has been a major help to Shandong enterprises looking to expand overseas. By providing a full-scene integrated smart production line solution with advanced robot applications, vision recognition, and artificial intelligence, COSMOPlat offers high-integration digital upgrade capabilities for global manufacturing.

Shandong has made rapid progress in the field of service trade. Three of its cities – Jinan, Qingdao, and Yantai – are recognized as service outsourcing demonstration cities in China. The province is also home to six national and 16 provincial specialized service trade export bases, covering digital, cultural, traditional Chinese medicine, language, and human resource fields.
