The inaugural World Conference of Classics concluded in Beijing on the afternoon of Nov 8.

At the closing ceremony, Xi Yanchun, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, announced the launch of the International Renowned Scholars "Qilu Visiting and Research Residency Program".

Initiated jointly by the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, the China Confucius Foundation, and Shandong University, the program aims to invite distinguished international scholars to conduct research in Shandong. Scholars will have the opportunity to engage in academic exchanges, experience the rich Shandong culture firsthand, and contribute to global civilization initiatives.

During their residencies, scholars will establish research projects focused on the inheritance and development of classical civilizations. They will collaborate with Chinese universities and think tanks to produce high-quality academic works that bridge the gap between the past and the present, and between the East and the West.
