The forum centered on strategies to combat climate change, carbon finance, and zero-carbon and low-carbon industry trends, and explored trends and policy recommendations related to the development of green and low-carbon industries from the perspective of multinational corporations.
During the forum, 20 exemplary cases were revealed, covering such areas as urban-rural construction, transportation, the circular economy, technological innovation, public institutions, and the peaking of industrial carbon.
The Climate Investment and Financing Platform in Qingdao West Coast New Area was also launched during the event, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of financial resource allocation.
During the keynote speech session, six experts and scholars delivered speeches on topics such as China-Europe industrial green development and cooperation, the integrated development of new energy technologies, continuous innovation in green finance, and decarbonization paths for the maritime industry in the context of carbon neutrality.
As part of the second batch of national low-carbon pilot cities in the country and the first in Shandong, Qingdao has a longstanding and deep-rooted foundation for cooperation in green development with Europe.
The Qingdao West Coast New Area, as a vital platform for China-Europe cooperation, has always regarded green and low-carbon as essential to the promotion of high-quality development, centering on developing fundamental systems for ecological civilization, creating green industry systems, and managing the natural environment, thereby continuously enhancing its leadership in green and low-carbon transformation.
