According to a data report released by Douyin E-commerce in early June, over 2 billion orders of Shandong products were sold on the platform in the past year. This remarkable growth reflects the strong presence of Shandong goods on Douyin E-commerce and the platform's effectiveness in connecting Shandong businesses with customers.

In recent years, Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) has introduced the concept of "Interest E-commerce", utilizing big data and artificial intelligence to analyze user behavior, preferences, and interests. This approach provides personalized product recommendations and shopping experiences, catering to each user's unique tastes.

On the platform, unique products have gained significant traction. Tri-colored cherry tomato fruit boxes are highly sought-after, while melon sales have seen a steady increase in sales on the platform. By transforming user searches into intelligent recommendations, "Interest E-commerce" has enhanced the feedback mechanism for specialty fruit and vegetable buyers, facilitating the development of new fruit varieties.

Small and medium-sized businesses in Shandong province have also expanded their reach through the platform. Qyufu, a fishing tackle brand based in Weihai, established its Douyin e-commerce account in May 2023 and generated sales of over 100,000 yuan ($13,786) in its first month. By March of this year, the brand's Douyin store had achieved sales of 8 million yuan. Online sales on Douyin have expanded Qyufu's market reach, driving consumption at physical stores as well, as many consumers who purchase fishing rods online subsequently visit physical stores to seek out the brand.

A gardening fertilizer brand based in Shouguang, Weifang has also achieved remarkable sales through online sales on the Douyin platform. This success has also boosted the efficiency of its factory, bringing hundreds of workers back to their jobs. These online businesses can flexibly adjust their business strategies based on e-commerce platform trends and market demand.
