Print PrintThe high-speed railway connecting Jinan in East China's Shandong province and Puyang in Central China's Henan province went into operation on Dec 8, marking the completion of Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway.
With a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, passengers can take high-speed trains from Jinan West Railway Station directly to Zhengzhou East Railway Station with the shortest commuting time at 103 minutes.
The high-speed railway serves as an important connecting line in the national "eight verticals and eight horizontals" high-speed rail network and an integral part of the Yellow River land-sea corridor.
The opening of the railway is of great significance to the four provinces, namely Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, and Hebei. These provinces are not only economically and densely populated, but also major grain and energy producers.
The Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway will provide a rapid transportation link between the Shandong Peninsula and city clusters along the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, around Chengdu and Chongqing, in central Henan province, and in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This will promote the coordinated development of the Jinan metropolitan area and the Zhengzhou metropolitan area, further strengthen Jinan's position as the central city in the Yellow River Basin, and play a significant role in promoting ecological protection and high-quality development within the Yellow River Basin.
