The 2023 Global Youth Conference will kick off in Jinan city of Shandong province from July 6 to 9 - with branch venues in Dezhou, Dongying, Jining and Tai'an cities - demonstrating the mission and responsibilities of young people in the new era and sharing China's stories and its voice with the world.

With its theme of "New Era, New Civilization, New Youth and New Mission", the conference will encourage young people to share their wisdom and solutions to humanity's problems, promote common values and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The event is being co-hosted by the Shandong provincial government, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the All-China Youth Federation and the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

It will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum known as the Huanghewan International Youth Economic Forum, two parallel forums and seven support activities - including the World Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, livestreaming sales by foreign ambassadors and an International Youth Gala.

What's more, a raft of supplementary youth exchange activities will also be held throughout the year, such as the 2023 Northeast Asia Youth Sustainable Development Study Camp and the "My View of China - Colorful Folk Customs" short video contest.

To date, the conference has invited youth representatives from 85 countries and regions, with about 1,000 participants due to be in the main venue.

The conference will highlight achievements such as the release of the Jinan Declaration of the 2023 Global Youth Conference, the launch of the I Want to Go to Shandong initiative, the establishment of the Global Youth Conference and the World Youth Entrepreneurs Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance.

In addition, it will feature three major brands - the Huanghewan International Youth Economic Forum, the World Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the GYC Youth Speak.

This year's conference will also focus on top-quality development, cultural inheritance and market operations.

It will invite young economists, experts and academics to interpret the trends of the global value chain reconstruction. Furthermore, the conference will concentrate on international communications and cultural exchanges, share the stories of Shandong and seek to enhance the power and influence of the young generation.

It will introduce market-oriented mechanisms and mobilize more social resources to participate in the negotiations.
