China-Africa Youth Festival to open

Print PrintThe 7th China-Africa Youth Festival will be held soon, with the theme of "Bring together youth dreams, advance to a new journey of China-Africa cooperation".
It will be sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, as well as the Shandong Provincial People's Government.
It will be organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People, as well as the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government.
The participants will experience traditional Chinese culture, as well as visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Communist Party History Exhibition Hall.
They will also learn about the development experience of enterprises, visit rural revitalization demonstration areas, and have a dialogue session with Chinese youths.
The China-Africa Youth Festival is an institutional activity within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) that aims to promote exchanges between Chinese and African youths, cement the traditional friendship between China and Africa, as well as nurture the successors fostering China-Africa friendship.
The event was successfully held six times from 2016 to 2021, and has played an important role in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and African youths.
During the event, the organizers carefully designed colorful and special contents. In 2018, the participants visited communities, government departments, as well as science and technology parks to observe advanced technological achievements, learn about China's achievements in the previous 40 years in reform and opening up, and experience the life of residents in Beijing.
In 2019, the organizers focused on promoting the elements of a community with a shared future for mankind and sustainable development.
A special arrangement was made for African youths to enter the Blue Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to listen to the briefing of the deputy director of the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding China's foreign policy and China-Africa relations. It was well received by the African delegates.
In 2020, 50 African students and outstanding youth representatives in China were recruited to participate in the event due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic.
At the two parallel forums of "China-Africa cooperation in fighting against Covid-19" and "Sharing experience in poverty reduction in China and Africa" of the China-Africa Youth Roundtable Conference, Chinese and African youth representatives delivered addresses. It was instrumental in building an exchange platform and promoting exchanges between Chinese and African youths.
On-site visits and mutual exchanges gave the participants a vivid picture of the earth-shaking changes and development taking place in China, as well as made them better understand the past and present of China and the Communist Party of China.
Expecting a bright future of China-Africa cooperation, they offered constructive suggestions for enhancing China-Africa friendship.
African youths not only had the opportunity to get to know Beijing, but also visited Sichuan, Jiangxi, and Guangdong to experience the local customs and development achievements in these areas.
