A high-profile provincial conference on high-quality development was held in Jinan, Shandong province on March 23.

In his speech, Lin said that quality is not only the basic support for modernization, but also an important symbol of core competitiveness. "In recent years, we have carried out in-depth actions on high-quality development and focused on building the brand of 'Friendly Shandong'," he added.

Lin noted that the province is studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in depth, as well as promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. It is also "accelerating the construction of a strong modern socialist province in the new era and striving to contribute to the great rejuvenation of the nation through Chinese-style modernization."

Departments at all levels in the province must fully realize that building a strong province with high-quality development is a key to serving and integrating into the new development pattern and also an inevitable requirement for meeting the diverse needs of the public, Lin said.

Efforts should be made in upgrading the manufacturing industry, improving the quality of agricultural and sideline products and engineering projects, as well as optimizing public services, he added. 

"Building a strong province with high-quality development is a basic, systematic, and long-term task," Lin noted. "It is necessary to launch favorable policies, support talents, and promote the modernization of the quality system and governance."

During the meeting, seven enterprises, including Bloomage Biotech, and three individuals, including Weigao Chairman Chen Xueli, were granted the eighth Shandong Provincial Governor Quality Awards. In addition, 10 counties and districts in Qingdao were listed as Quality Areas of Shandong in 2022. 

Zhou Naixiang, governor of Shandong, presided over the meeting.

Those in attendance included Ge Huijun, chairman of the Shandong Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Lu Zhiyuan, Party secretary of Qingdao, and Yang Dongqi, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress.
