Shandong delegation reviews government work report

The Shandong delegation to the first session of the 14th National People's Congress held a plenary meeting to review the government work report in Beijing on March 5. Vice-Premier Han Zheng joined the meeting and delivered a speech.
Han called for efforts to fully implement the CPC Central Committee's decisions and plans, and continue securing new victories for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
Han also stressed effectively upgrading and appropriately expanding China's economic output to generate high-quality development. "China should ensure and improve the people's wellbeing in the course of pursuing development, and achieve solid progress in promoting common prosperity," Han said.
Participants at the meeting also showed their support for the government work report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the opening meeting of the session.
Over the past five years, China has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development. The country has completed building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, reached a new level of economic development, accomplished the task of poverty alleviation, made fruitful achievements in scientific and technological innovation, further optimized its economic structure, improved infrastructure, deepened reform and opening up, significantly improved the ecological environment, and continues to raise people's living standards.
They all agreed that the government work report includes solid goals for the government in eight areas this year, with a clear vision, a clear path and a promising future for development.
