Yantai, Temuco in Chile establish friendly cooperative relationship

Print PrintThe coastal city of Yantai, Shandong province established a friendly cooperative relationship with Temuco, Chile via a video link on Nov 26.
Niu Qingbao, the Chinese ambassador to Chile, said at the signing ceremony that Yantai and Temuco have their own unique characteristics and complementary advantages. The establishment of the friendly cooperative relationship between the two cities is expected to inject new impetus into the development of China-Chile relations.
Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai, said during the video conference that under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Yantai has actively promoted friendly cooperation with Temuco in various fields. The two cities have recorded robust growth in economic and trade exchanges, and witnessed the integration of industrial and supply chains. Yantai will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Temuco in various fields such as wine production, city management, the digital economy, culture and sports.
Temuco Mayor Robert Neira said that the establishment of the friendly cooperative relationship will further boost economic and trade ties between Temuco and Yantai. Temuco plans to carry out a wide range of new products with Yantai, aiming to advance the industrial cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two cities and promote common prosperity and development.
Temuco is a tourist attraction on the banks of the Courtin River in south-central Chile, and is the capital city of the Araucania Region. The city has a robust economy and a convenient transportation network, as well as rich cultural deposits. Temuco is regarded as the trade center of Chile and a well-known "sports city" in in the country.
