The construction of Jinan Metro Line 6 entered a new stage on Nov 5 as the shield machine for the line was put to work.

The Qilu No 1 shield machine operates at a speed of 15 to 20 meters per day under 24-hour intelligent and information-based monitoring for safe and smooth operations.

Jinan Metro Line 6 has a total length of 39.1 kilometers and 33 stations, and passes through the main urban area of the city from east to west, which includes Huaiyin, Shizhong, Tianqiao, Lixia, and Licheng districts.

The line connects large passenger flow centers and key development areas in Jinan such as the Jinan Medical Center, the Jinan Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and Daming Lake. After completion, it is expected to accelerate the development of the city's eastern and western regions.
