Whooper swans arrive in Shandong for winter sojourn

Whooper swans are arriving at Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve in Weihai, Shandong province - from Siberia and other places - to spend the winter.
With its favorable geographical location and wetlands, Rongcheng is an important stop for migratory waterfowl, with more than 10,000 birds staying at the site annually.
The swans stay for around five months at the bay in Rongcheng, making it one of the largest wintering grounds for whooper swans in the world.
