Print PrintA forum on promoting the shift in cross-Straits growth drivers from old to new ones is to be held on June 18-20 in Jinan, East China's Shandong province.
The forum aims to explore new modes for promoting the transformation of growth drivers and seek cooperative opportunities between Shandong and Taiwan in the fields of high-end intelligent equipment manufacturing, electronics information and the biosciences.
Jointly hosted by the Jinan municipal government and the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial Government, the event involves four exchange meetings, one seminar and three surveys to provide an exchange platform for companies and businessmen from the cross-Straits.
In recent years, Jinan and Taiwan have deepened their cooperative ties. Leading Taiwan companies including Master Kong, Uni-president and Want-want China have launched operations in Jinan.
To date, Jinan is home to 300 Taiwan companies and has more than 500 Taiwan residents. The city has approved a total of 895 Taiwan-funded projects with a total investment of nearly $3.9 billion.
In April, Jinan city rolled out 19 measures designed to deepen economic and cultural exchanges with Taiwan.
Officials said these measures would encourage Taiwan businessmen to participate in major projects to replace the old economic growth drivers with new ones and offer preferential treatments in terms of investment, living conditions and protecting rights.
