South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (the "SCIAHK") is an international arbitration institution established under the laws of Hong Kong SAR. On 26 September 2019, as confirmed by the Supreme People's Court and the Department of Justice of Hong Kong SAR Government, SCIAHK was included in the list of qualified arbitral institutions under the Arrangement Concerning Mutual Assistance in Court-ordered Interim Measures in Aid of Arbitral Proceedings by the Courts of the Mainland and of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and operates as a Hong Kong arbitral institution.
As from 1 May 2022, when the SCIAHK Arbitration Rules ("Rules") has come to effect, SCIAHK has facilitated arbitral proceedings of institutional and ad hoc arbitrations, with total amount in disputes over 1.332 billion yuan in all arbitrations.
SCIAHK has been included to the list of institutions and venue providers under the Pilot Scheme on Facilitation for Persons Participating in Arbitral Proceedings in Hong Kong, to issue "Letter of Proof" to eligible arbitrators, witnesses, counsels in the arbitration, and parties to the arbitration entering Hong Kong for arbitration.
