Updated: December 14,2020

STECOL Corporation, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, signed a commercial contract for the New Sava Bridge project in Belgrade, Serbia, on Oct 11. The other signatories to the deal are the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia and Belgrade Land Development Public Agency.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by representatives from the Chinese embassy in Serbia and the Ministry of Finance of Serbia.

The project's main engineering tasks include the overall removal of the existing bridge and the construction of a steel arch and steel beam bridge.

The new bridge is designed as a two-way bridge with four lanes, an urban tram lane in the middle and sidewalks and viewing platforms on both sides. The main bridge is a double-layer steel arch bridge and will be built according to European standards.

With a construction period of three years, the bridge will effectively alleviate Belgrade's poor traffic conditions and become a new landmark in the city.

It is the first project signed by STECOL Corporation in Serbia, marking the company's official entry into the country's market. The project is of great significance to the company's long-term development in Serbia and surrounding markets.

STECOL Corporation will continue to implement the project's various tasks and do an excellent job of preliminary planning to ensure the bridge's high-quality construction.
