Updated: November 09,2020

The Pachamama photovoltaic project in Mexico, which was undertaken by POWERCHINA, successfully passed the grid acceptance and was officially put into commercial operation on Nov 6 under the witness of the National Energy Control Center (CENACE) and National Electric Power Company of Mexico.

The Pachamama photovoltaic project was jointly implemented by POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Co Ltd and Western contractors. It is the first photovoltaic general contracting project of POWERCHINA's in Mexico and the largest photovoltaic power station project undertaken by a Chinese company in the Americas.

The project is located in central Mexico, with a total installed capacity of 375MWp, and includes photovoltaic farms, 400kV substations, and grid-side reconstruction. After completion, it can meet the electricity demand of more than 90,000 local families in Mexico, providing strong support for Mexico to improve its energy structure and promote the green development of the local economy.

The Pachamama photovoltaic project is another innovation and practice of POWERCHINA's in the new energy field in the Americas. The successful commercial launch of the project has not only provided valuable accumulated experience for subsequent project development and implementation, but has also further expanded POWERCHINA's brand influence.
