A total of 18 POWERCHINA projects were included in the list of the second batch of National Quality Engineering Awards, according to the China Association of Construction Enterprise Management.
The Jinping-I and Jinping-II Hydropower Station on the Yalong River in Sichuan province and the Morocco Noor II 200 megawatt Solar-Thermal Power Plant won National Quality Engineering Golden Awards.
The other 16 projects won National Quality Engineering Awards, including the cogeneration project in Weiwu, Gansu province, the gas turbine power plant in Chongming district, Shanghai, the 200 MW offshore wind power project in Yancheng, Jiangsu province, and the second phase of the national No 1 highway project in the Republic of Congo.
With a total installed capacity of 8.4 million kilowatts, the Jinping-I and Jinping-II Hydropower Station is the backbone of China's "West-to-East Electricity Transmission" project.
The double-curved arch dam of the Jinping I Hydropower Station is 305 meters high. It is the world's highest arch dam. It is recognized by the domestic and international hydropower industry as a world-class project with the highest technical difficulty, the most difficult construction layout, and the most difficult construction management.
The Jinping II Hydropower Station is the longest water diversion power station with the largest depth, largest scale, and most complicated construction conditions in the world.
The Morocco Noor II 200 megawatt Solar-Thermal Power Plant is the first photothermal project in the world to win the National Quality Engineering Golden Award.

It is the world's largest single-capacity trough-type solar thermal power station. It uses the most advanced solar thermal power generation technology in the world, completely solving the drawbacks of low efficiency of traditional solar photovoltaic power generation and power generation at night. It can transport 500 million kilowatt hours of green energy per year for Morocco’s power grid.
The National Quality Engineering Award is the earliest and highest-rated national award in the engineering construction industry. It is a national level award with the highest specification in the field of engineering construction in China. The selection covers various industries in the fields of construction, railway, highway, chemical engineering, metallurgy, and electric power.
