Otog Banner in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region held a release conference for local brands included on the list of China-EU Agreement on Geographical Indications on Sept 15.

The Albas Goat Meat Culture Festival officially kicked off that same day.

The China-EU Agreement on Geographical Indications was signed in 2020 and went into effect on March 1, 2021. A GI is a distinctive sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.

Albas goat meat and spirulina products produced in Otog Banner have been recognized as GI products.

At the press conference, a nameplate unveiling ceremony for the Otog Banner Famous Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Products Experience Center and signing ceremonies for strategic cooperation projects were held.

The Otog Banner Albas Goat Meat and Cashmere Industries High-quality Development Forum and the second China Inner Mongolia Spirulina Industry High-quality Development Summit Forum were successfully held as well.

Experts and entrepreneurs conducted in-depth discussions on the new development trajectory of the Albas goat meat and cashmere industries and China's spirulina industry, and provided suggestions for the production, scientific research and brand building of related products.
