Ding Zhongli, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, led a team to Central China's Henan province from June 18 to 21 to inspect the implementation of the Yellow River Protection Law.

The team traveled to the cities of Zhengzhou and Luoyang, where they visited various places, including a nature reserve and water conservation projects. The team members learned about local efforts in ecological protection and restoration, the efficient use of water resources, water and sediment regulation, flood controls and pollution prevention, as well as the progress made in advancing high-quality development and protecting and promoting the Yellow River culture. They also held discussions with deputies to the people's congresses at various levels, experts and frontline officials to listen to their opinions and suggestions.

At a briefing meeting held in Zhengzhou, Ding acknowledged Henan's efforts in fully implementing the Yellow River Protection Law and its achievements in promoting ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, noting that the law is a crucial piece of legislation on protecting a specific river basin.

Ding called for tailored supporting regulations, further enhancement of the legal system for Yellow River protection, detailed planning, and meticulous execution of tasks to safeguard the tranquility of the Yellow River.
