The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Budgetary Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee held a video meeting on the NPC's work on financial and economic affairs in Beijing on Sept 28.

Chen Zhu and Wang Dongming, vice-chairpersons of the NPC Standing Committee, attended and addressed the meeting.

The meeting noted that the NPC's work on financial and economic affairs has kept in mind the overall work of the Party and the country, promoted new progress, and made positive contributions to upholding and improving the people’s congress system and boosting high-quality economic development.

The meeting also stressed efforts to adhere to the overall leadership of the Party, unswervingly follow the path of socialist political advancement with Chinese characteristics, have an accurate understanding of the new development and requirements of the new era, and advance the NPC's work of legislation, supervision and survey on financial and economic issues.
