Xu Jinghe, Deputy Commissioner of China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), met with a delegation led by French Ambassador to China Bertrand Lortholary on March 18, to discuss enhancing cooperation in the cosmetics regulation.

Xu briefed the delegation of China's cosmetics regulatory efforts, noting that, in recent years, the NMPA has remained committed to improving the legal system for cosmetics regulation, strengthening the development of cosmetics standards, advancing regulatory science research and its application, and optimizing the cosmetics safety assessment mechanism.

It has also been improving regulatory enforcement and actively engaging in international exchanges and cooperation to achieve high-quality development, he added.

Lortholary emphasized that France attaches great importance to collaboration with China in the field of cosmetics regulation.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening this cooperation and to ensuring quality and safety of cosmetics for public use.

Officials from related departments and affiliated institutions of the NMPA attended the meeting.
