In line with China's dual carbon goals and the national energy transformation, the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region has begun replacing coal-based industries with local new green resources.
China's dual carbon goals, as part of its commitment to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, are to reach peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
Amid the strategic opportunity presented by the hydrogen energy revolution, the Ningdong Base has focused its transformation efforts accordingly. To date, the base has approved the construction of nine green electricity-to-hydrogen projects, three of which are completed with another two underway. Green hydrogen production capacity at Ningdong has reached 22,100 tons, which is one of the best figures nationwide.
To ensure a smooth grid connection and the commissioning of projects related to green hydrogen production, the State Grid Ningdong Electric Power Supply Company is actively supporting the development of new energy and the construction of energy storage stations at the Ningdong Base, which is providing a continuous supply of green electric power.
According to the company, it is now vigorously advancing the construction of supporting electric grid projects for new energy, providing a green channel for customers to manage electricity. It also keeps track of project progress to ensure the high-quality and reliable electric power, promoting the further green development of the Ningdong Base.
