According to Yinchuan Customs statistics, in the first four months of 2024, the export value of Ningxia's goji berries increased by 16.9 percent year-on-year, ranking first in China.

Wang Fei, the foreign trade manager of Ningxia Wolfberry Biological and Food Engineering, the company with the highest export value of goji berries in Ningxia in the first four months of the year, said that with the improvement in the international trade situation, the company's export volume has been steadily increasing. In the first four months of this year, the export value reached 58 million yuan ($8 million), a year-on-year increase of 145.3 percent.
"While ensuring the export volume of primary processed products such as dried goji berries, we are continuously increasing our investment in technology, so as to extend the industrial chain. We have expanded our product range to include goji berry juice, goji berry freeze-dried powder, and this year, we have developed a 1L packaged goji berry composite beverage," said Wang.

In recent years, Ningxia's goji berries have made breakthroughs in quality improvement and deep processing. At present, over 120 new products -- including medicines, foods, beverages, health products and cosmetics -- related to goji berries have been developed. The goji berry products have been exported to over 50 countries and regions. In the first four months of this year, a total of 1,331.2 tons of goji berries were exported. The main export countries and regions include Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, and ASEAN countries.
