A symposium on high-quality cooperation between China and Arab countries was held in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Monday. Topics included establishing closer relations and promoting cooperation between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Ningxia plays an important role as a platform for enhancing exchanges, mutual learning and connectivity between China and Arab countries, said Li Xing, Party chief of Ningxia University.
The university has created think tanks for promoting cooperation between China and Arab countries, opening schools there and strengthening scientific research and academic exchanges, Li said.

Jiang Zengwei, former deputy minister of the Ministry of Commerce called for more opening-up between China and Arab countries in the fields of finance, transportation and energy.
Wu Sike, former Chinese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, said the high-quality cooperation between China and Arab countries should be led innovatively by the advanced technology and digital economy sectors and should give full play to China's advantages in technology, capital, production capacity and supply chains.
The symposium has enriched the think tanks and deepened cooperation between China and Arab countries. Ningxia will work on building a high-end research base that integrates academic research, decision-making, consulting and talent training, as well as creating new patterns of opening-up, the symposium committee said.
