Zhang Jian is the secretary of the CPC Dongyonggu village branch committee. In 2016, he chose to go back to his hometown to start his own business, which started the village on the road of goji berry planting. After many years, twenty projects have been signed with supporting funds of more than 20 million yuan (about $2.9 million). The village has implemented the demonstration manor project of the integrated development of the goji berry industry, and built a goji berry planting base with an area of 2,000 mu and a green workshop with an area of 3,500 mu. At present, the first children's activity park invested and constructed by Dongyonggu village has been completed and put into use, which marks the village having taken a step towards industrial integration.

While focusing on the industrial development, Zhang has also given priority to the management of talents. The close contact and cooperation between the Ningxia Goji Berry Research Institute, the National Goji Berry Engineering Center and other scientific research institutions has provided technical support for the development of the goji industry. Meanwhile, one talent project in the region, 6 medium and senior professional and technical talents, 2 technical experts, and 6 college students have strengthened the local talents team. Zhang has also striven for 300,000 yuan to build a talent station to support the rural revitalization of Huinong district.
