5th Cloud Computing International Summit opens in Zhongwei, Ningxia

On Sept 16, the 5th Cloud Computing International Summit of the First Data Valley in Western China Computing Industry Conference opened in Zhongwei, Ningxia.

With the theme of "east-to-west computing resource transfer", the summit gathered experts and elites of related industries, focusing on the construction of green and low-carbon data center clusters and sharing new technology and concepts in cloud computing, big data, the digital economy, quantum computing, network security, and other fields.

At the summit site, Zhongwei signed 12 projects with 10 enterprises, with a total investment of 42 billion yuan (about $6.3 billion), which has contributed in building Ningxia into a demonstration area of ecological protection with high-quality development.

Up to now, the Zhongwei data center cluster has invested 9 billion yuan in total, providing massive storage and big data computing services to more than 4,000 enterprises and institutions, and driving the employment of more than 3,500 people.

The 5th Cloud Computing International Summit is the branch venue of the First Data Valley in Western China Computing Industry Conference, hosted by the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. This summit aims to promote the "China’s east-to-west computing resource transfer project" and support the building of a national computing network system integrated with collaborative innovation.

The summit has brought together the leaders of Ningxia, experts and the heads of enterprises to discuss the construction of green, low-carbon and safe data center clusters, and to share new technology and concepts in the fields of cloud computing, big data, quantum computing and network security.

Zhongwei, is the city regarded as "the national hub with big data center" and "national new internet exchange center". It undertakes the national strategic task of "China’s east-to-west computing resource transfer project". Together with Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Shanghai, Zhongwei has been listed as an internet municipality directly under the Central Government.
