On Aug 18, the launch ceremony of the Ningxia English International Communications Portal was held in Yinchuan, capital of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
The Publicity Department of the CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's Committee and China Daily signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement and officially opened the platform.
Li Jinke, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's Committee and head of the committee's publicity department, said in his speech that the signing of the agreement with China Daily and the opening of the platform not only symbolize the sincere cooperation between the two parties in the past but also unveil a new starting point for future cooperation and deepened exchanges.

Li said that Ningxia will take this opportunity to promote international communication capacity, seize the great opportunity of jointly participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, put greater efforts into promoting reform and opening-up, and take more practical measures to boost high-quality development. Li hopes that China Daily's support can help open a window through which the international society will better understand Ningxia and enhance its popularity and reputation.
Qu Yingpu, publisher and editor-in-chief of China Daily, said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be held in the second half of the year amid the initiative to comprehensively build a modern socialist country. The event draws high attention in the international society.
Qu said that as a shining business card of the country's opening-up to the outside world, the world-famous "Jiangnan on the fortress" will surely usher in a new development period, attracting wide global attention.
Qu added that the two sides will take the opening of the communication portal as an opportunity to continuously deepen international cooperation. China Daily will innovate and tell the stories of Ningxia's economic prosperity, national unity and beautiful environment with a broader vision and open mind. It will speak for Ningxia as a modern and beautiful socialist region in the international community and contribute to its construction.

The Ningxia English International Communications Portal includes English websites and overseas social media accounts. In addition to the website of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, the matrix currently contains the websites or web pages of the following seven institutions: the China-Arab States Expo, the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions, the China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, the Goji Industry Expo, the Yinchuan Wine-producing Area at the Eastern Foothills of the Helan Mountains, Jinfeng district of Yinchuan, and the Yinchuan Science and Technology Bureau. These websites will display the real and diverse Ningxia.
The Publicity Department of the CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regions's Committee and China Daily will strengthen cooperation, give full play to China Daily's strengths, and deeply explore Ningxia's international communication resources. It will spread, report and promote Ningxia in the forms of text, pictures, illustrations, videos, micro-videos, and special topics through online & offline channels in a way pleasing to international audiences.
