Ningbo selected as pilot city for '5G+ industrial internet' integration
Ningbo has been named one of the first 10 pilot cities in China for the 2024 "5G + industrial internet" integration application initiative, as recently announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
In recent years, Ningbo has capitalized on the opportunities presented by the development of new-generation information technologies. Home to 20 industrial internet pilot demonstration projects recognized by the MIIT, the city has established a "1+N+X" industrial internet platform system. It has built over 36,000 5G base stations, with 19 local enterprises included in the ministry’s 5G factory directory.
Looking ahead, Ningbo plans to accelerate the large-scale development of "5G + industrial internet" applications in its key industries, such as green petrochemicals, new energy vehicles and components, and textiles and apparel. By 2027, the city aims to achieve comprehensive "5G + industrial internet" integration across key enterprises, industries, and industrial parks.
