Austrian conductor bridges cultures with Ningbo Symphony Orchestra invitation
As the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra's triumphant European tour came to a close on Aug 4, leaving behind a trail of harmonious footprints across Italy, Slovenia, and Austria, the captivating fusion of Eastern and Western music resonated deeply with audiences.
Among the highlights was the orchestra's third stop in Austria, where Austrian conductor Professor Ernest Hoetzl, fueled by his passion for cultural exchange, not only invited but also personally funded a concert on Aug 1.
During the concert, Hoetzl himself conducted the encore, Dance of the Yao People, showcasing the vibrant traditions of ethnic music in China. The overwhelming response from the audience underscored the strong impact of this cross-cultural collaboration, emphasizing the power of music to bring people from diverse backgrounds together.
