Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province saw a group of tourists from Hong Kong arrive on Feb 24 – the city's first inbound tourist group from Hong Kong after China resumed normal travel with Hong Kong and Macao on Feb 6.

The tourists arrived at the Ningbo Lishe International Airport on the night of Feb 24 and started a four-day trip in Ningbo, visiting hotspots such as Nantang Old Street and Tianyi Sqaure.

To welcome the first inbound tour group, the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism gave each tourist a package of gifts filled with Ningbo products – a canvas bag printed with patterns of Ningbo's landmarks, a cup and flowers.

One tourist said they were impressed by the city's hospitality after receiving the gifts.  

A"As China has optimized its travel regulations, more and more tourists from Hong Kong intend to visit the mainland," said Song Yueping, vice general manager of Ningbo International Travel Service Co Ltd. "We're currently preparing for more inbound group tour products."

Song added that recent popular places such as Hanling Old Street and Chengyang village have been added to travel routes for tourists, giving them a richer experience in Ningbo.
