Ningbo consumer market recovers during Spring Festival holiday

The 50 registered shopping complexes in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province generated a combined sales revenue of 693 million yuan ($102.15 million) during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21 to 27, up 4.7 percent from that of 2019.
Shopping malls, restaurants, and cinemas were the most popular destinations of Ningbo residents during the holiday, reflecting strong momentum in the recovery of the city's consumer market.
Family reunion was a keyword of this year's festival, with orders offered by renowned restaurants for New Year's Eve dinner, one of the most important dinners marked by Chinese people for family reunions, quickly snapped up by local residents.
A variety of activities were held in Ningbo to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. The three most popular shopping complexes welcomed nearly 600,000 visitors from Jan 21 to 26 and generated over 97 million yuan in sales revenue.
Ningbo has also issued coupons worth a total of 300 million yuan to local residents, of which coupons worth 120 million yuan have been used and helped yield sales revenue of 1.23 billion yuan.
More celebrations will be held until the Lantern Festival, the 15th day of the first lunar month, which falls on Feb 5 this year.
