A team of 154 medical workers from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province were dispatched to help Shanghai battle its COVID-19 outbreak earlier this month.

The team comprises 24 doctors and 130 nurses, most of whom have experience managing COVID-19 outbreaks. Some even participated in Wuhan's anti-epidemic efforts in 2020.

The team was assigned to assist Shanghai's city-wide nucleic acid testing campaign before helping treat infections in the makeshift hospital in Lingang area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

As of 12:00 April 24, the team had treated 2,026 patients, 1,565 of whom had been cured and discharged from the makeshift hospital.

Ningbo had also sent another team of 505 medics to Shanghai on March 29 to help with mass testing efforts.

On April 22, the delegation, except two people who were dispatched to work in makeshift hospitals, returned to Ningbo. During this period, they collected more than 2.61 million nucleic acid test samples.
