A makeshift wholesale vegetable market was set up in Fenghua district, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on April 20, according to local media reports.
The facility, which can be relocated to another location and put into operation within 12 hours in the event of an emergency, is the first of its kind in the nation.
Jointly built by the Ningbo Commerce & Trade Group and the Fenghua people's government, the market is part of the local government's efforts to stabilize the vegetable supply amid the current COVID-19 outbreaks.
Located in Fangqiao sub-district, the market was built by more than 200 construction workers with 12 hours. It can accommodate 50 trucks at the same time and is able to supply 2,000 metric tons of vegetables daily.
The market uses a digital management system that helps improve operation efficiency.
