Ningbo's per capita disposable income tops $10,000

The per capita disposable income of residents in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province stood at 65,436 yuan ($10,142) in 2021, according to official data from the Ningbo branch of the National Bureau of Statistics.

This is the first time the city has seen its per capita disposable income surpass $10,000.

Last year, 16 Chinese cities had a per capita disposable income of more than 60,000 yuan. Ningbo was ranked eighth nationwide in this regard.

The per capita disposable income of the city's urban residents rose by 8.6 percent year-on-year to 73,869 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 42,946 yuan, up 9.7 percent.

Wages are still the prime source of income for local residents. The city's per capita salary income in 2021 was 37,357 yuan, an increase of 7.2 percent.

Stable growth was also seen in operating income despite uncertainties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ningbo's per capita net operating income stood at 11,914 yuan, up 6 percent year-on-year.

The city' property income and transferred income also maintained robust growth momentum.

The per capita net property income and transferred net income of local residents reached 6,982 yuan and 9,183 yuan, up 15.4 percent and 17.6 percent respectively.
