Ningbo sets development goals for next 5 yrs

Ningbo has put forward six tasks to bolster the city's campaign to build itself into a modern coastal metropolis, according to a recent report delivered by Peng Jiaxue, Party chief of Ningbo, at the 14th CPC Ningbo Municipal Congress which commenced on Feb 23.
Specifically, the city in East China's Zhejiang province will strive to improve its innovation capability, openness, urban construction, residents' civility, common prosperity and social governance in next five years.
It has set the goal of becoming a global manufacturing and innovation center, a portal for international trade and exchanges, a coastal fashion metropolis as well as a national model in civilization, urban-rural coordinated development and social governance.
Ningbo has been on the fast developmental track in the past five years.
Official statistics show that Ningbo's gross domestic product (GDP) increased from 1.01466 trillion yuan ($156.1 billion) in 2017 to 1.45949 trillion yuan in 2021, while its fiscal revenue jumped from 241.58 billion yuan to 326.44 billion yuan over the same period.
