Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province aims to create more than 200,000 urban jobs this year, local authorities said.

Specifically, it aims to attract more than 200,000 college students seeking employment or looking to start businesses this year while offering vocational trainings to over 200,000 people with the hope of cultivating an additional 80,000 skilled workers.

In addition, the revenue of the human resource services in Ningbo is targeted to surpass 110 billion yuan ($16.9 billion).

Efforts will also be made to expand the coverage of old-age insurance for employees in the city and reconcile labor relationships.

Ningbo has emerged as a popular destination for non-locals to seek employment.

Official statistics from the Ningbo municipal bureau of human resources and social security show that the city was home to more than 4.3 million Chinese migrant workers as of the end of last June.

Its increasing attractiveness is primarily due to policies rolled out by local authorities to grant Chinese migrant workers the same treatment as local residents in areas including housing, education, medical care and social security.
