Ningbo launched a COVID-19 vaccination bus in Haishu district on Feb 14, offering door-to-door vaccination services for residents in the area.
The bus was modified and operated by the Gulin Town Medical Center.
"The bus is well equipped with facilities, including laptops and vaccine storage boxes," said Huang Kecheng, deputy director of the medical center, "And two mobile vaccination medical teams have been formed, each consisting of five people. We call it the "2+2+1" model, which means that two people handle registration while one checks information and one administers vaccine doses.”
According to Huang, two residents can receive the COVID-19 vaccination simultaneously on the bus, and the two teams can vaccinate nearly 400 people in half a day's time.
The bus's first stop was an enterprise in Gulin town, where nearly 100 workers were vaccinated.
"It is convenient," said a worker, "we were too busy to get the COVID-19 vaccination before."
Huang added that the bus will go to more enterprises, schools and villages around the area, and they want to provide convenient COVID-19 vaccination service for residents, particularly the elderly.
