To provide a better working environment for truck drivers, Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province has been building service centers entitled "Drivers' Homes" across the city.
To date, six Drivers' Homes, which offer services, such as parking, food, bathing, and laundry services for truck drivers, have been built at expressway service areas and logistics distributing centers in Cixi, Jiangbei, Fenghua, Beilun, as well as Zhenhai.
Currently, nearly 30,000 truck drivers are working in Ningbo. Most of them need to drive between different cities day and night. Drivers' Homes offer affordable, but comfortable places for them to take a rest.
A driver surnamed Wang, who usually drives long distances, recently rested at the Drivers' Home at Cicheng Expressway Service Area.
"It is so comfortable and makes me feel like I'm home," said Wang.
According to local authorities, more services and activities will be launched at Drivers' Homes in the future. Workers from the local transportation department will work at the facilities to help drivers deal with transportation related affairs.
